It was a clear, cool summer morning as we all excitedly gathered at the “palace” registration table for cookies and coffee at 8:00 am.
Eager participants, photographer Leslie Brening, handler-runner Ricky Johnson, Judge Gary Lawrence and twenty-plus spectators fellowshipped during registration that was organized and fun! Many riders and handlers shared hopes, dreams and interesting equine stories.
Our first event was a Hanoverian mare, by Renzi, Regardless SMH owned by Susie Skellenger. As Regardless warmed up, free, on this crisp summer morning, she put on an unsolicited exhibition of how a happy, healthy horse should feel!
After the jumping portion of her Mare Performance Test, Regardless SMH received an 8 on jumping ability and “wowed” the crowd.”

Susie and Regardless completed their MPT with an Under Saddle Dressage test, receiving 8 for her walk and an overall score of 74 points. Regardless’s walk and trot on the triangle received a 101.5 score and she received her first “Star” award.
Next, a wonderful group of mares were presented and all approved to their owners’ delight.
During an entertaining foal presentation, Karyl Burwell’s exquisite filly Wendella, born May 7th, by the stallion Wild Dance, captured the premium award and was crowned with a champion ribbon.
It was a memorable, friendly, down home, yet professional Inspectioin where happy owners and spectators celebrated on “Mi Pablito” burritos treated by hostess Susan Worthington, owner and founder, 30 years ago, of Rainbow Equus Meadows.
